Meaning of Life
Written May 2002

You would think there would be a complex answer to this age old question, wouldn't you? Well there isn't. The answer is to learn and experience. It's that simple. Though, I supposed you'd like me to go more into detail.

There is a lot of pain and suffering in this world, and some say why would god allow it? Well, it's because most lessons are painful. We come to this physical world to live our lives so we can learn and experience. It isn't a vacation which some people seem to believe. There is work to be done, and you can either face life's difficulties head on or shy away from them. Of course you won't learn or experience as much if you are always shying away. True, there are things to learn from shying away, but there are more things that can be learned from facing problems head on.

There are people who don't have lessons that aren't as hard in this life. Some may even seem like they don't need to work for anything. That may cause you to be somewhat jealous, but you really shouldn't be. They have had hard lives in the past (yes, Past Lives), or will have harder ones in the future. The main thing you should focus on is your life, your goals you want to accomplish, and the difficulties that stand in your way. If you are too busy being jealous of someone else's life, you won't get anywhere in yours. Also, when I say to focus on your own life, I don't mean you shouldn't be concerned about others, and not help them. If that's something you want to do and like doing, do help them. It's good to help others, as long as you don't forget to help yourself too.

You might be wondering what are these lessons I'm referring too? Well, they are any situation in this life that you learn from. Not every lesson learned will be realized in this life though, so it may not seem like you are learning much. When your life ends though, you will go before the Council of Seven to go over what has been learned. If you don't learn a certain lesson you were meant too, then you will have to try again. Sometimes it can be done in a more painful manner, and you will continue to try and learn it, until it's been learned. While you are stuck on one lesson, you can be given others to learn, and when those are all learned, you will have more to learn. Once you have learned everything there is to learn, you usually get to become a Guide for someone else.

This may not sound believable, and that's perfectly understandable. I figure you can't recall any of your past lives, or what happens in-between them, right? Usually when we are born, we are closed off to the knowledge of what we learned. Though some children usually are open to the spiritual world, until their parents teach them it's pretend, and they become closed to it. Those imaginary friends kids have, aren't always that imaginary.

Anyway, some people are born with the veil lifted. By veil, I mean the ability to see beyond this physical world, like if you can't, there is a veil blocking your access to it. Some people later in life may learn to break the veil as well, or parts of it. So they can get full to partial access to the spiritual world.

As for experiencing, there is much to experience. In the spiritual world you don't have a physical body, and the amount you can experience on that level is limited. So that's why we have this physical world, to experience, and as I have already said, learn.

Some experiences are of course bad, and some are downright awful. But those shouldn't be looked at as bad. They are just experiences that you should eventually learn from. And learning is a good thing. The process may not be, but try to look beyond the hurt, loss, and pain of the process, and to what can be learned. It might make life more bearable to live.
