I Would Cry
Written 5/4/99

She feels so alone,
even when everyone is home.
No one cares she cries,
but I know that's a bunch of lies.
I tell her I care,
but she wouldn't believe me, not even on a dare.
She so filled with pain,
all she knows is hurt and shame.
And she becomes scared at night,
because a man tried to touch her, causing such fright.
His face lingers, she can't push him away,
he can't hurt you is what I say.
I sigh and frown,
when she tells me how her heart is down.
She thinks about death, not wanting life any longer,
I shake my head, and tell her to be stronger.
Because if she were to die,
I know I would cry.
