Celiac Disease/Gluten Free Section

Welcome to my little place on the web, version 4! I'm no expert with HTML, and I'm sure an intelligent monkey could make a better site, but I don't care. I just wanted a place on the web to call my own (I also heard chicks dig guys with websites). Here I express myself, my opinions, views, and rant about whatever. If you aren't open to other people's views and are just one of those useless close minded people, please leave by clicking here. For those who didn't click, enjoy your stay. You can also send me an email (let me know if you find a typo or a dead link). Below you will find my journal.

Journal

Heh.. been awhile. Could talk about Isabel, but later maybe.

With mah health problems, medical science still doesn't have a reason for it. Though someone in the family does have something called Celiac disease, so been looking it up right now, curious to see if maybe that's the problem. Reading wise, sounds possible. It's like having an allegery to gluten, which is pretty much in most foods.. well, it comes from wheat. Just read this part:

"If a person with the disorder continues to eat gluten, studies have shown that he or she will increase their chances of gastrointestinal cancer by a factor of 40 to 100 times that of the normal population4. Further, "gastrointestinal carcinoma or lymphoma develops in up to 15 percent of patients with untreated or refractory celiac disease3." It is therefore imperative that the disease is quickly and properly diagnosed so it can be treated as soon as possible."

Heh.. so it's imperative to find out quickly? Too bad I've been dealing with this for at least EIGHT TO NINE YEARS. Idiot doctors.

So, yeah.. I did mention, seeing a new doctor right? Just a general one. I asked to be testing for this disease, he decided no. Just gave me some "normal" blood testing, which of course showed nothing. Think I need to call him, and tell him to test me for this. Bah..

Oh, and.. joy.. if this is it, it means no more eating anything with gluten in it, which is pretty much anything yummy, for the rest of my life! That's if I'm not dying of cancer! LOL

Ohh.. and it's not just wheat actually:

"A gluten-free diet means avoiding all products that contain wheat, rye and barley, or any of their derivatives. This is a difficult task as there are many hidden sources of gluten found in the ingredients of many processed foods."

Fun huh?

Here's the site I was getting this from.

Edit:

Been looking at this site some more, and seeing why when this disease was first mentioned to me months ago, I completely brushed it off as not fitting me:

"The amazing thing about celiac disease is that no two individuals who have it seem to have the same set of symptoms or reactions. A person might have several of the symptoms listed above, a few of them, one, or none. There are even cases in which obesity turned out to be a symptom of celiac disease."

So.. right now, I'd put my money on maybe having this.. making sense, sorta. And though it'd finally be an answer, don't like the treatment. Restricted diet, LOL. But.. hell.. I could still have SUGAR!!!
